Square connectors offer the advantage of being genderless, making them ideal for connecting your portable camping fridge or solar panel to a power supply. These fittings feature a single-piece housing, ensuring a cost-effective solution that maintains readability, durability, and safety. However, it’s important to note that a connection requires the use of two sockets.
Installation Instructions:
To begin, use a stripping tool or a knife to strip back the cable sheathing, specifically if you’re working with a twin-core cable. Next, with the help of a stripping tool, carefully strip back approximately 1 cm of insulation from each single-core cable, ensuring both the positive and negative cables are addressed.
Proceed by attaching the terminal lugs securely to the stripped cable ends. Utilize a crimping tool to effectively crimp the terminal lugs onto the cables, ensuring a strong connection. Verify that the terminal lugs are correctly crimped by confirming their fixed position and resistance to being pulled off.
Position the square connector with the terminal lug lip facing upward. Insert the positive and negative cables into their respective sides (pos + and neg -) of the connector.
Push the cables all the way through until the terminal lug lip latches over the spring clip at the end of the plug, firmly securing it in place.
Finally, confirm the stability of both cables by gently pulling on each one individually, ensuring the latch remains over the spring clip and that they do not disengage from the Anderson plug.
PLEASE NOTE: Square connectors are interconnectable with the same colour only.
